Albert George Masters ('Bert') was transferred to the AIF on 5 November 1942 and embarked for PNG on 24 November 1942.
On 8 December 1942 he was assigned from Milne Bay to the 2/10th Btn.
On 17 January 1943, he was wounded in action - his service record notes a gun shot wound to left forearm, breaking both bones.
On 20 Janury 1943 he was transferred to the 2/9 AGH, then to the 2/1 Hospital ship on 27 January 1943, evac to the 2/4 AGH on 1 February 1943, evac on the 2 Australian Ambulance Train to the 2/4 AGH then on to the 103 AGH.
