Battle for Buna Airstrip

On the 24th Dec 42 the 2/10 were involved in the battle for Buna Airstrip. One of Pvt Scott's opo's would have been the famous Pvt George C "Dick" Whittington QX23902. Whittington was photographed when he was being helped back to the field hospital in Dobodura by Raphael Oimbari a Papuan native.

Departed Australia

As a member of the18th Brigade, 2/10 battalion he departed Australia for Milne Bay on the 6th of August 1942.
