    12 Apr 1915: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 2010, 4th Field Ambulance, Proceeded to join Mediterranean Expeditionary Force in Gallipoli on 12 April 1915.
    9 Aug 1915: Wounded AIF WW1, Private, 2010, 4th Field Ambulance, Bullet wound to left thigh, treated at 1st General Hospital Heliopolis and Ras-el-Tin-Mustapha. Rejoined unit 27th October 1915.
    1 Jun 1916: Embarked AIF WW1, Private, 2010, 4th Field Ambulance, Embarked from Alexandria, Egypt on 1st June 1916, disembarking Marseilles, France on 9th June 1916 to join British Expeditionary Force.
    19 Apr 1917: Promoted AIF WW1, Corporal, 4th Field Ambulance, Had been promoted to Temporary Corporal on 14th February 1917.
    27 Sep 1917: Transferred AIF WW1, Corporal, 14th Infantry Battalion, Detached for duty to 14th Infantry Battalion.
    12 Dec 1917: Honoured Military Medal, Corporal John McGREGOR
    'This N.C.O. who was in charge of five squads of stretcher bearers on 26th September, 1917, and 27th September, 1917, evacuating wounded from the R.A.P. to the north of POLYGON WOOD, showed great courage and determination throughout. The track along which the wounded were evacuated was constantly under heavy shell fire. When one of his bearers became a casualty he took the vacant place in the squad and then succeeded in keeping the lien of evacuation clear. His coolness and courage proved a great incentive to the bearers under his supervision, and aided very largely in the successful evacuation of the wounded.'
