The details provided are taken from the history of the 2nd/10th Infantry Battalion, Whilst serving with the 2nd/10th he was wounded in an action at Tobruk 3rd May 41. The action that he and the section of men that he was leading was significant, and for this he was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal DCM. He finished his service with the Unit with the rank of Corporal. The details of this action are read in page 153, and summarised in appendix 1 page 5 of the last reprint (2011) of the Unit history.
