Lloyd's Legacy

My father, Lloyd, became committed to helping his fellow servicemen after WW2. He assisted many returned service members to access support for many of the hurdles so many experienced in returning to civilian life. After some time, with the creation of his own family, he focused on his own life, and that of his family. As he got older, he became involved in the Services Club as President, and various disability organisations as well as organisations to support the carers of disabled adults. He often said, after his retirement, "I don't know how I ever found time to go to work." He ws a very good father and a husband. He had his flaws as everyone does, but he did the best he could with the cards he was dealt. He was generous with his time, his wisdom and his skills. When he passed, the church was filled to standing room only. A testament to the huge number of people he had touched. he was born on Dec 31, 1921. He passed on Dec 28, 1996, and his service was held on Dec 31, 1996, his birthday. He is still missed by his children, and his grandchildren.
