Biography

Samuel was the son of John MOORE and Louisa Elizabeth WYNNE

He married Doris Osborne CLARK in Victoria in 1916 - they had one son, Colin Vincent MOORE born 1917

"...Lieutenant Samuel Vincent Moore, 8th Light Horse Regiment, of Melbourne... A farmer prior to enlisting in September 1914, Lt Moore embarked with the 8th Light Horse Regiment, 25 Reinforcements, from Melbourne on board RMS Karmala on 6 February 1917. He served at Gallipoli and in Egypt. Lt Moore died of wounds on 1 December 1917. He was 23 years of age." - SOURCE (www.awm.gov.au)

Samuel (Vince) was wounded with a GSW to the left arm during the notorious attack at The Nek, Dardinelles on 7 August 1915.  While recovering he became ill with 'enteric' and was returned to Australia for a 3 month break.  

He returned to his unit in March 1917 but DOW near Jeruselum 1 December 1917. (Service Records AWM)
