Cemetery details: Sutton Veny (St John) Churchyard, Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, England
"BORGMEYER.- On the 17th October, at the Sutton Veny Military Hospital, London, No. 3812, Private Albert J. Borgmeyer, 48th Battalion (late 5th Pioneers), Australian Imperial Forces, the second beloved son of Mrs. E. Borgmeyer, of Solomontown (late Yorke's Peninsula), from influenza and pneumonia, aged 31 years.
The blow, was sudden, the shock severe,
We little thought his death was near.
Only those who have lost can tell
The pain at heart at not saying farewell.
A painful shock, a blow severe,
To part with one we loved so dear.
No one he loved was by his side,
But with God in heaven he will abide.
— Inserted by his sorrowing mother." - from the Adelaide Chronicle 30 Nov 1918 (nla.gov.au)
