I was born the eldest son 1928 and recall the early days of the Great Depression my father Robert James Browning known as "Jim" married my mother Madge Moore 1927 provided a tent as home railway land 1 mile Grafton Road from Casino with a dirt floor kitchen and suspended board floor in the bedroom portion. Father worked burning off tree stumps and breaking in young horses to sulky etc for various people in the district. He progressed to a PMG linesman and finally to Pastures Protection Board as a Stock Inspector until retirement. Dad became interested in Trotting Horses and became very successful racing in the Northern Rivers Area. Also included was Old English Game Bantams and Bee Farming that I was exposed to when I returned home on holidays with the family of course I was a target for a few stings that raised humor in this tough old guy
Dad passed away aged 79 and buried Casino Lawn
