Alfred was born 23 May 1877 in Jimboomba, Queensland and died on 09 Aug 1941 in Queensland. His parents were Joseph Royal and Mary Ann (nee Carss).
Alfred Married Margaret Bennett. He was a storekeeper in Logan Village at the time of enlistment.
Arthur is listed on the Logan Village Nominal Roll and also on the Logan Village Museum Honour Roll for WW1.
