"...3794 Private Albert Dew... of 32nd Battalion. A farmer from Burra, South Australia, prior to enlistment, and embarked with the 9th Reinforcements from Adelaide on 21 September 1916 aboard HMAT Commonwealth (A73) for Plymouth, England. Pte Dew joined his battalion on the Western Front near Albert, France, on 7 February 1917. He was wounded in action near Steenvoorde, France, on 15 October 1917 and was treated in No 53 General Hospital, Boulogne before rejoining his unit in early December. Pte Dew was killed in action near Morlancourt, France, on 30 July 1918. He has no known grave and he is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.
