Allan Eric BUCHANAN was born in Gympie, Queensland on 1st February, 1918
His parents were Malcolm BUCHANAN & Ada Mary STJERNQVIST
He enlisted in Gympie on 19th August, 1940 & served in New Guinea & Bougainville - his last rank was Sergeant with the 47th Infantry Battalion
Allan returned to Australia & was discharged on 3rd April, 1946
He married Shirley May MAHAFFEY in the Boonah Methodist Church on 16th July, 1949
He died in Gympie on 3rd June, 2014 and was cremated privately before a Memorial Service in the Gympie Uniting Church on 11th June, 2014 - late of Webster Road, Goomboorian, Queensland

His Brother Malcolm Stjernqvist BUCHANAN (SN 41464) served during WW2 in the Royal Australian Air Force & died on 21st November, 1944 - he was awarded a DFC
