PIIVATE J. D. BURKE
Pte. J. P. Burke, A.I.F., has been killed in action in New Guinea. He enlisted in Blackall in June 1940, and saw service in the Middle East where he was wounded. He was an A grade Rugby footballer and cricketer and played in several Queensland nountry centres as a playing coach. He was educated at Nudgee College and was the younger son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. Burke. late of Sherwood. Brisbane. He was 34 years of age and was unmarried.
