Sergeant Davey led his men in a counter attack on OG2 with such dash that lost ground was regained and a large dug-out full of wounded men saved. | |

17 Dec 1917: | Honoured Military Cross, Third Ypres, For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on night of 7/8 October 1917 when in charge of a party of the 12th Battalion, as part of a composite raiding party with the 11th Battalion, raided Celtic Wood east of Ypres led his men with such dash that the enemy was taken by surprise wth a machine gun captured, 10 prisoners taken and a number of the enemy killed with no casualties suffered by his party. | |
