Private Leslie Gordon Croft (Service No:QX33081) enlisted in the Australian Army on 22 July 1942 and was attached to 2/25 Battalion when he was Discharged on 16 October 1944.

Born in 1923 in Texas QLD, Les was the eldest child of Enest Croft (b1889 in Inverell, NSW) and Elvera Elenora Bartels (b1902 in Brisbane, QLD). Ernest - who had been a Farmer at Inverell, NSW - was a Grazier in Texas QLD when he and Elvera married in 1922. Ernest and Elvera settled on Bonshaw in Texas QLD, where Ernest was a Grazier.

Les worked as a Labourer in Texas QLD before enlisting in the Army, and following his Discharge returned to Texas, QLD and settled on Plainlea where he was a Dairy Farmer. In 1960 Les married May and they settled in Texas, QLD where Les worked as a Labourer. Les died in 1980 and May in 2010.
