Private Oliver Dalziel (Service No:QX34951) first enlisted in the ACMF (Private; Service No:Q126492) on 17 March 1942 and was atatched to 8 Motor Ambulance Convoy (MAC) when he enlisted in the AIF on 10 July 1942. Private Dalziel was Discharged (Medically Unfit) on 13 October 1942.

Born in 1904 in Brisbane QLD, Oliver was the only child of Oliver Dalziel Snr (b1867 in the Shetalnd Islands, Scotland) and Eliza Wheeling (b1866 in Lanarkshire, Scotland). Oliver Snr immigrated with his parents in 1867, arriving in Port Adelaide, South Australia on board the Brerar - the family had settled in Brisbane QLD by 1872. Eliza immigrated in 1886, arriving in QLD on board the Cloncurry. Oliver Snr (a Stationer's Assistant) and Eliza (a Domestic Servant) married in 1903 in Brisbane, QLD where they settled. Oliver Snr had started work in 1881 for Gordon & Gotch Ltd as a Boy on the Book Stall at Roma St Railway Station and progressed to Stationer's Assistant and Stationer in the Printing Department before Retiring in 1935.

Oliver Jnr worked as a Shop Assistant in Brisbane where, in 1945, he married Lorna Grace Down (b1917 in Brisbane, QLD). Oliver and Lorna settled in Brisbane where Oliver worked as a Clerk until his death in 1968. Lorna died in 1990.
