Andrew Sarrail was the 4th of 6 children of Arthur Percival Davies (a Stonemason) and Elizabeth Grace Butler of Brisbane, QLD
Andrew was a Brickmaker in Wynnum, QLD when he enlisted in 1940. He served with the Australian Army 61 Battalion as a Private (Service No: Q28848) until 1942.
Brother Robert Arthur served with the Army and sister Ellen with the RAAF during WWII.
Following his Discharge, Andrew worked as a Brickmaker in Wynnum (Hemmant) QLD and married Doreen Merle Roberts in 1944 in Brisbane, QLD. He continued living in Buranda and Wynnum and working as a Brick Setter and Factory Hand, and in 1965 married Shirley Rae Fensom. He lived and worked as a Factory Hand in Manly, QLD until his death in 1982
