John Frederick Dobson
Private John Frederick Dobson (Service Nos: QX41286/Q119884) enlisted in 1941 in the Australian Army and was attached to 112 General Transport Coy at Discharge on 10 December 1945.
John was born in 1921 in Brisbane QLD, the youngest of eleven children of Joseph Dobson (b1875 in Enoggera, QLD) and Ida Lenette Dinte (b1879 in Brisbane, QLD). Joseph (a Labourer) and Ida married in 1897 in Brisbane, QLD and raised their family in Hughenden, Bundaberg and Brisbane – Joseph was a Labourer, Boot Clicker, Mill Worker and Bootmaker.
John worked as a Labourer and in 1943 in Ipswich QLD married Hazel May Riddell (b1923 in Ipswich, QLD). Following his Discharge in 1945, John and Hazel settled in Ipswich where John was a Bus Driver. John and Hazel moved to Clontarf in QLD in 1960, where John was a Manager. Hazel had died in 1982 and John in 1984.
