Sometime referred to as Edwin Julius Herbert Otto but served as Edward Otto aka Edward Herbert Roberts. During 1947 he changed his surname to Roberts by Deed Poll  

Son of Johann August Hermann Otto and Selma Amelia Pauline Roberts formerly Otto nee Regneir of East Street, Brompton, SA formerly of Eudunda, SA.

Commenced return to Australia on 1 August 1919 aboard HT Argyllshire disembarking on 18 September 1919

Medals: 1914-1915 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 21 November 1922 Edward married Alma Blanch Williams in the Registry Office, Adelaide, SA. On page 26 of the Attestation Paper Alma refers to him as Edward Herbert Roberts.
