Charles Frederick Peneligon WARNE was born in North Melbourne in 1873

His parents were Henry WARNE & Mary Ann CARRON

He enlisted in Melbourne on 29th January, 1916 & embarked as a Private with the 39th Infantry Battalion, A Company from Melbourne on the HMAT Ascanius on 27th May, 1916 - he returned to Australia and was discharged on 19th March, 1918

Charles died at the No. 11 General Hospital in Caulfield, Victoria on 22nd June 1918 and is buried in the Melbourne General Cemetery
