Sergeant Allan Neil Ford (Service Nos:Q89314/QX39952) initially served in the ACMF as a Private (16 July 1941 - 21 September 1942) and was a Corporal attached to 4 Supply Depot AASC on 22 September 1942 when he enlisted in the AIF. Promoted to Sergeant on 26 January 1943, he was attached to Supply Depot Units (208, 4, 224) and served in Bougainville (23 November 1944 - 7 December 1945). Sergeant Ford was attached to 19 Australian Supply Depot Platoon AASC at Discharge on 20 December 1945. Brother Ronald also served in WWII.

Allan was born in Melbourne, Victoria in 1918, second of four children of Henry Ford (b1874 in Wondonga, Victoria) and Annie May Carlton (b1882 at Mt Egerton, Victoria). Henry worked in Melbourne as a Labourer, and in 1911 was Assistant Station Manager when he and Annie married in Melbourne. Henry and Annie settled in Melbourne, where they raised their family and Henry was Stationmaster before moving to Brisbane in the mid 1930s.

Allan worked in Brisbane as a Butcher and Barman, and in 1940 married Thelma Eleanor Bowman (b1916 in Brisbane, QLD). When he enlisted in the ACMF, Allan gave his occupation as 'Unemployed Truck Driver' (NAA 1941). Following his Discharge, Allan and Thelma settled in Ashgrove, Brisbane where they raised their family and Allan was a Truck Driver until his death in 1969. Thelma died in 1995.
