Christopher was the third of ten children of Christopher Henry Fry (born 1887 at Emmaville near Glen Innes in NSW) and Mary (Minnie) Elizabeth Rogers (born 1891 in Cooktown, QLD). Married in 1908 in Cairns, QLD, Christopher and Minnie settled in Cairns where Christopher Snr was a Labourer
A Labourer in Cairns, Christopher Jnr married Florence Catherine Stewart (born 1914 in Cairns, QLD) and enlisted in the Australian Army in May 1942, serving at 116 Australian General Hospital as a Private (Service No: Q143301). Brother Stanley also served at 116 Australian General Hospital as a Sergeant (Service No: Q116397), and Brothers-in-Law - Harold Herbert Bird (Service No: 1766), Max Arnold (Service No: QX46009) and Alan Vernon Dickfos (Service Nos/Q122294/QX49525) also served in WWII.
Following his Discharge in April 1946, Christopher returned to Cairns where he worked as a Labourer . He and Florence separated in 1950, and Christopher remained in Cairns until his death in 1962.
