Wilfred was the second child of Frederick William Fry (born 1862 in Gladstone, QLD) and second wife Louise Pauline Keefer (born 1872 in Germany). Fred was a Carpenter in Brisbane, QLD when he married Louise in 1904. They settled in Brisbane and raised the surviving three children of Frederick's first marriage, and the four children they had together.
Wilfred was a Motor Trimmer in Brisbane, QLD in 1932 when he married Ethel Vera Cowling (born 1908 in London, England). Ethel immigrated with her parents in 1912, arriving in Brisbane, QLD on board the Waipara.
In April 1942 Wilfred enlisted in the ACMF and was a Craftsman (Service No:Q149488) attached to General Details Depot when he was Discharged in July 1944. Brother Charles Albert (Private; Service No:5336) and Brother-in-Law Alfred Ernest Johnson (Private; Service No:5923) served in WWI/
Wilfred and Ethel remained in Brisbane, QLD where Wilfred worked as a Motor Trimmer before retiring to Miama on the Gold Coast in QLD in 1972. Wilfred died in 1976 and Ethel in 2005.
