Born at Toogoolawah, Queensland 1891 to Francis and Ellenore McKee of Tribune Street, South Brisbane, Queensland, Patrick enlisted September 1916 with the 52nd Battalion at Roma, Queensland.

Wounded in action - 24.4.1918, (GSW thigh, Villers Bretonneux), 26.5.1918 (gassed), Mr McKee returned home March 1919, discharged August 1919.

Patrick’s name has been inscribed on the Queensland Railways Toowoomba Employees Roll of Honour.
Patrick’s tragic and lonely death was reported - http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article134186626

I placed a wooden cross at Patrick’s unmarked grave August 2019, now long forgotten, and submitted an application to Veterans’ Affairs February 2020 asking for a Commonwealth War Graves Plaque, curbing and marble chip, but unfortunately this was declined April 2020.
