Son of James Henry and Annie Henzelle Crawford of 'Doone', Malton Road, Beecroft, NSW

The supreme sacrifice sleep on, Larch Wood (Railway Cutting) Cemetery, Ypres, Flanders, Belgium

Brother- Walter F CRAWFORD was Captain 1st Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders, British Forces

Grief came to the home of Mrs. A. H. Crawford, of 'Doone,' Malton-road, Beecroft. A private cable sent by Gunner Antrobus (Mrs. Crawford's nephew) convoyed the sad intelligence that her youngest son, Bombardier Harry Keith Crawford, had made the supreme sacrifice whilst fighting for King, country and liberty in France. The deceased soldier was 22 years of age. He was brought up in Beecroft, where he was well and popularly known, and was educated at the Sydney Grammar School. Afterwards he went on the land in Queensland  and returned home to enlist in July, 1916, in the 13th Battalion, Australian Field Artillery. He was in camp at National Park till November, 1916, when he sailed for Egypt. After  about three months there he was sent direct to France and has been in the firing-line, without injury, over since. He was an enthusiastic and capable rower for S.G.S., and was a member of St. John's Church, Beecroft.    His brother, Lieut. W. F. Crawford, was wounded about 12 months ago.
