Son of Joseph Job Hays and Mary Lofts Hays nee Rawlins of Finney Road, Indoorapilly, QLD

Apprenticed to D. Houston of QLD for two and a half years

Commenced return to Australia on 23 March 1919 aboard HT Cluny Castle disembarking on 21 May 1919 at Adelaide for onward travel to Brisbane

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

On 18 February 1922 George married Isabella Houston in Queensland
