Son of John FRY and Sarah Alexandra nee HILL of Newbury Junction, Queensland previously of Banana Picket, Proserpine, QLD

William was killed during an attack after 19 underground mines were detonated.

FRY. — In loving memory of our dear son and brother, William Joseph Fry, killed in action, at Messines, on June 10, 1917. Aged 23 years.
He proved himself no shirker,
He answered his country's call;
He died an Australian hero.
