28 Jan 1916: Discharged AIF WW1, Private, 2207, 13th Infantry Battalion, Discharged in England as a Corporal in consequence to his appointment in the 9th Kings Own Scottish Borderers, Imperial Army, with rank of 2nd Lieutenant. Following his service he was returned to Australia.

Henry Baylis Murray was born on 27 Dec 1877 at Springsure, Queensland, a son to Frederick Johnstone Murray and Mary Helen Murray (nee Casey). He married Elsie Gertrude Hanscombe in 1923 in Sydney, New South Wales.

He served in both the South African (Boer) War and WW1. When he enlisted for WW1 in 1915 he was living in Sydney. First service was as a Private S.N. 187 in the 4th Queensland Imperial Bushmen, Boer War. Second service was as a Private S.N. 2207 in the 13th Infantry Battalion AIF, WW1. He was discharged in 1916 in England with the rank of Corporal in consequence of a commission in the 9th Kings Own Scottish Borderers, Imperial Army with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. On completion of his service he was returned to Australia.
