Leading Aircraftman Douglas Henry Hall (Service No:126667) first served in the Militia (Trooper; Service No:Q3939) with 2/14th Light Horse Regiment in QLD before enlisting in the RAAF at No 1 Recruiting Centre Melbourne on 4 February 1943 as an Aircraftman I - mustered first as Trainee Technical and re mustered as Electrician and then Electrical Fitter. LAC Hall was attached to 3 Aircraft Depot at Discharge on 2 May 1946.

Born in Toogoolawah, QLD in 1920, Doug was fifth of eight children of William (Willie) Hall (b1888 in Bryden, QLD) and Gladys Smith (b1888 in Esk, QLD). Willie (a Labourer) and Gladys married in 1912 in Esk, and in 1916 Willie had joined QGR as a Railways Worker. Willie and Gladys lived in Esk, Toogoolawah, Yimbin via Esk before settling in Kilcoy.

Doug worked as a Farm Hand in Kilcoy, QLD before moving to Melbourne, Victoria where he was working as an Aircraft Assembler (Newport Workshops Beaufort Division). Following his Discharge, Doug settled in Melbourne - living with younger brother Henry and working as an Aircraft Assembler, Electrician and Draftsman. In the 1960s Doug moved to Brisbane, QLD where he joined the Public Service as a Mail Officer with the Postmaster Generals Department until his death in 1974.
