Proceeded overseas to France on 22 November 1918 to A.I.B.D., Havre. Marched out to unit 28 November 1918. Transferred to 55th Battalion from 56 Battalion, 1 December 1918, whilst in the Field. Taken on Strength in 55th Battalion.

From 8 January 1919 to 24 March 1919 attached to Divisional Platoon. On 1 April 1919 detached to Australian Burials Detachment (Grave Registration Detachment), France. Detached back to 55th Battalion 19 August 1919. Disembarked Southampton, Hampshire, England, ex France on 24 August 1919, prior to return to Australia.

Fate:   Returned to Australia per HT Port Denison, 25 September 1919, disembarking 17 November 1919. He married Marjorie Josephine Hungerford, 12 February 1921, St John's Church of England, Newcastle, NSW.
