Private John (Jack) Munro Hartland (Service No:Q141322) enlisted in the ACMF in April 1942. He was attached to 32 Garrison Battalion when he was Discharged in July 1944. Private Hartland had previously served with the AIF in France in WWI (Private, Driver; Service no:57612).

Jack was a Widower living at Jondaryan, QLD in 1942. His wife, Alice Cole Ambrose (b1899 in Merewether NSW) had died in 1938. Jack and Alice married in 1924 at Oakey on the Darling Downs in QLD. Jack worked as a Labourer and Farmer on the Darling Downs and following his Discharge in 1944, he settled in Toowoomba QLD where he worked as a Labourer until his death in 1966.
