Harold Victor Fleischmann was a talented violinist and, in 1914, aged 19, passed the Practical Examination for the L.T.C.I., the second highest degree with London Trinity College of Music. In 1932 he was a member of the Ipswich City Orchestra and played the cello. 

After the war, he returned to live in Ipswich, Queensland and his occupation as a saddler in his father's saddlery and harness making business. He married twice, his first wife having died 3 years after they were married in 1934. Harold lived and worked in Ipswich until 1958 when he moved to Southport, Queensland. He is buried in Ipswich cemetery.
