Private Sydney Thomas Matehett, 18th Battalion (wounded), is 19 years of age, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Matehett, of 49 Edgeeliffe-road, Woollahra. He was educated at Fort Street, and was formerly a corporal in the cadets. Private Matehett was well known in various parts of the State, particularly at Jindera. A cousin, Private Harry Matehett, was killed in the first landing.
