Colin was the eldest child of William Alfred Huet (b1894 in Brisbane, QLD) and Letitia Procopis (b1893 in Mackay, QLD). William (a Storeman) and Letitia married in 1923 in Brisbane, QLD where they settled. William died in 1937.
Colin was a Junior Clerk in Brisbane when he enlisted in the ACMF on 23 November 1942. He was a Signalman (Service No:Q146075) attached to 1 Australian Independent Signals Coy when he was Discharged on 3 September 1943. The next day Colin enlisted in the AIF (Signalman; Service No:QX45876) and served in Borneo (12 April 1945 - 26 January 1946). He was attached to 13 Australian Wirelss Telegraphy Section when he was Discharged in April 1946.
Returning to Brisbane, QLD Colin was working as a Clerk when he married Mavis Estelle Barker (b1926 in Brisbane, QLD) in the early 1950s - Mavis was working as a Stenographer. By the late 1950s Colin and Mavis moved to the Maranoa Region where Colin worked as a Timekeeper, Bookkeeper and Station Hand in St George and Morven. Back in Brisbane by 1972, Colin worked as a Factory Hand. He died in 1995 and Mavis in 2019.
