Sydney Keith Harris was an Australian soldier who fought in the First World War. He was 19 when he  enlisted in the 9th Machine Gun Company on the 20/6/1916 and embarked for the war on the 22/12/1916. He was born in 1897 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Sydney Keith Harris was a painter before he enlisted. He was 5 feet tall with a chest measurement of 31-33 inches.

During his time in the 9th Machine Gun Company he was gassed one time and had to stay in hospital for months. In July 1918 he was charged with being absent without leave. He was found guilty and was sentenced to 6 months of detention. 

He was discharged on the 27/7/1919.
