Lloyd's parents were Evan Jones and Mary A Kendall. He arrived in Brisbane on the Duke of Norfolk with his parents at age 5 in August 1900. He was 20 years of age at time of enlistment in January 1916 and was a farmer. His sister, Elizabeth Annie married Arthur Reuben Cutts. The Cutts family were well known pioneer residents of Redcliffe. Lloyd married Jessie Lilian Curtis in 1921. Lloyd also enlisted in WWII.
