Son of Thomas and Eleandor Brierley of 115 Farnworth Street, Liverpool, England. Brother of Thomas Henry Brierley who was killed in action on 19 May 1916 while serving with the 5th Kings Liverpool Regiment and is buried at Douchy-Les-Ayette British Cemetery, Plot 111, Row B, Grave 1

Medals: 1914-15 Star, British War Medal, Victory Medal

Also served with the Territorial Force's 9th Kings Liverpool, England

Just before enlisting he had been working ofn the fishing trawler Endeavour, Melbourne
