Private Chester Charles Leadbetter (Service No:Q228952) served in the ACMF with 19 Battalion (QLD) VDC from 21 June 1942 to 21 October 1945.

Chester was born in Roma, QLD in 1916, fourth of six children of Charles Leadbetter (b1864 in Toolum, New South Wales) and his second wife Marion Julia Pittuck (nee Amos;b1884 at Mullet Creek via Bundaberg, QLD). Charles worked as a Stockman and Labourer in Charleville, Augathella and Boguntangum via Emerald beofre he and Marion married and settled in Mungalalla via Micthell, where they raised their family and Charles was a Stockman/Grazier.

Chester started work as a Labourer on the family property - 'Bonarby' at Mungalalla via Mitchell - and was a Grazier in 1947 when he married Eileen Ruth McKenzie (b1921 in Mungalalla via Mitchell, QLD). Chester and Eileen settled at Bonarby in Mungalalla, where they raised their family and Chester was a Grazier. In the late 1970s they lived briefly in Brisbane, before moving to Kentucky via Maclagan in Joondaryn. Chester died in 2005 and Eileen in 2016.
