Keith was the youngest of five children of George Little (born 1886 at Kangaroo Flat in NSW) and Sylvia Mabel Sawtell (born 1889 at Bowral in NSW). George (a Railway Worker) and Sylvia married in 1914 at Temora in NSW. They moved to Kingaroy in QLD in 1917 and then to Two Mile near Gympie QLD in 1925, where George was a Farmer. The family moved in to Gympie in 1934, and George worked as a Labourer.

Keith was a Shop Assistant in 1942 when he enlisted in the CMF. He served as a Private (Service No:136156) and transferred to the Army in March 1943. Keith was a Private and Driver (Service No:QX51794) with 111 Australian General Transport Coy, and served in New Guinea. He was attached to 2/21 Transport Platoon when he was Discharged in August 1946. Older brothers Clifton Kellas (Sergeant, QX9970) and Melvin Arthur (Private; QX49955/Q105422) served in WWII.

Returning to Gympie, Keith was working as a Clerk in 1950 when he married Patricia Mary Murphy (born 1925 at Kilkivan in Wide Bay, QLD). Keith and Patricia relocated to Brisbane in 1952, where Keith worked as a Clerk. He died in 2008 and Patricia died in 2009.
