Next of kin given as his sister Ada Grace Owen of Lincoln College, Christchurch, NZ later of High Street, West Maitland, NSW.

For five years he was apprenticed to Montague's Autos of Newcastle, NSW.

Commenced return to Australia on 6 May 1919 as nursing staff aboard HS Kaiser-a-Hind disembarking on 19 June 1919
