Biography contributed by Faithe Jones
Henry was the eldest son of 15, born in Charleville on the 16th November 1924. Although barely five feet tall at the age of ten, he was shooting kangaroos to help support the family. By 12 years of age, he was digging bore drains behind bullock and horse teams. Henry joined the armed forces and served in five sections of the Australian Military. He played as half back for New South Wales Army Stat of Origin football team against Queensland before he departed for Korea where he was seriously wounded. After the war he returned to Charleville where he was a butcher for many years, and lived until his funeral on the 8th May 2020.
