Private Cedric Marles (Service No:Q143985) enlisted in the Army on 25 August 1942 and was attached to 1 Artillery Training Regiment - Gunner. Posted to 4th Field Regiment on 21 January 1944, Gunner Marles served in New Guinea in 1944 with 4 Field Regiment and Bougainville in 1945 with 62 Transport Platoon. Private Marles was attached to 4th Field Regiment at Discharge on 20 September 1946.

Born in Bundaberg, QLD in 1924, Brad was eldest of four children of Stanley Norman Britton Marles (b1900 in Bundaberg, QLD) and Mary Agnes Hay (b1900 in Bundaberg, QLD). Stanley (a Labourer) and Mary (a Shop Assistant married in 1927 in Bundaberg, where they settled and raised their family and Stanley was a Labourer and Waterside Worker.

Brad was an Apprentice Painter in 1942 when he enlisted in the Army, returning to Bundaberg following his Discharge. Brad was working as a Painter in Bundaberg in 1956 when he married Erin Alice McCullagh (b1928 in Windorah, QLD). Brad and Erin settled in Brisbane, where they raised their family and Brad worked as a Painter. Brad died in 2008 and Erin in 2021.
