Private Frank Stanley Maudsley (Service No:Q270704) enlisted in the ACMF in June 1942 and was attached to HQ Training Centre (Jungle Warfare) when he was Discharged in February 1946.
The youngest of ten children, Stan was born in 1905 in Maryborough, QLD to Richard Maudsley (b1861 in Westmoreland, England) and Maria Jane Walker (b1865 in Ipswich, QLD). Richard emigrated in 1866, arriving in Brisbane QLD with his parents and siblings on board the Queen of the Colonies. Richard (a Farmer) and Maria married in 1886 and settled at Trinity Creek in Boonarra where they raised their family and Richard was a Grazier.
Stan worked as a Labourer in Undaban, Goomeri and in 1931 in Maryborough, QLD married Lillian Isabell Thompson (b1909 at Munna Creek, QLD). The couple settled in Undaban, Goomeri where Stan was a Labourer before moving to Brisbane, QLD in the mid 1930s. Stan initially had a Grocery Store in Brisbane, and then was a Dry Cleaner when he enlisted in the ACMF in 1942. Following Lillian's death in 1946, Stan remarried in 1947 in Brisbane, QLD - Athelwald (Athel) Patricia Reithmuller (nee Hartland; b1908 at Rosalie Plains on the Darling Downs in QLD). Stan and Athel settled in Brisbane and Stan worked as a Dry Cleaner and Contractor. Stan died in 1965 and Athel, who remarried, died in 1989.
