'During the operations in MALAYA in which S. Aust Div was concerned from 13 Jan to 15 Feb 42, this officers commanding 4 Tank Attack Regt. RAA AIF, displayed exceptional qualities of leadership and control under somewhat unusual situations that required anti tank protection. When enemy tanks appeared they were promptly dealt with and positions saved on account of anti tank efficiency. Throughout the operations this Officer was an inspiriation to his Regiment owing to his outstanding ability, command and control which were exercised without regard for personal safety.'
