Next of kin given as his sister Jane Roberts of Richmond Terrace, Greenhayes Manchester, England later of Charles Street, Bunbury, WA. Next of  kin later changed to his sister-in-law E. Judes of Brook Street, Coventry, Shropshire, England

On 29 January 1916 George enlisted and was based at 47 Depot with number 1872 and discharged on 5 April  1916 due disciplinary reasons. 

Commenced return to Australia on 4 December 1918 aboard HT Somerset disembarking on 26 January 1919
