His brother, 947 Sergeant Clement Joseph Tymons 27th Battalion AIF, was killed in action near Flers France, 5 November 1916, aged 20, just over 3 months later.
James was posted missing, 20 July 1916. He was posted missing for 3 months and struck off strength, 20 October 1916. At a Court of Enquiry, held in the field, 12 August 1917, he was pronounced as 'Killed in Action, 20 July 1916'.
Their father, James Patrick Tymons had passed away during 1912 and their mother, Mary Anna Tymons received all of their medals and memorial awards.
