Catherine was the youngest of six children of Cornelius O'Connor (born 1848 in Ireland) and Mary Wilson (born 1857 in Ireland). In 1887 Cornelius was a Farmer at Crows Nest on the Darling Downs, QLD when he married Mary. They settled at Djuan, Crows Nest where they raised their family and Cornelius was a Farmer until his death in 1922.
Catherine grew up on the farm at Djuarn, Crows Nest and like her older sister Bridget, became a Nurse. Catherine was Nursing in Brisbane, QLD when she enlisted in the Australian Army Nursing Service AMF in September 1941. She was a Lieutenant (Service No:Q70294) when she was Discharged in January 1945.
Catherine continued Nursing and spent the post war years with Maternal and Child Welfare as a Nurse in Atherton, Gympie and Kingaroy, QLD. Catherine was buried with her sister Bridget at Emu Creek Cemetery in Crows Nest, QLD when she died in 1969.
