| 8 Feb 1918: | Honoured Military Medal, Citation reads: - On 12th October 1917 East of Ypres, this N.C.O. was conspicuous for his gallantry and great devotion to duty. He acted as quartermaster in an Advanced Post and it was largely due to his unremitting efforts, under heavy shell fire and in very severe weather conditions that all the Posts were kept supplied with necessities. On many occasions he acted as stretcher bearer under heavy shell fire although this was not a part of his duties and brought in severely wounded men to his Post.
