Born in Denmark
George Oluf Svendsen was a sailor and born in Denmark 24. Juli 1897 in the city of Alsted, Sorø.
He is brother to my great grandmothers second husband, Karl Laurits Svendsen which also is born the same place in Alsted, Sorø.
George enlisted to the Australian Army under WW1 and was wounded in France in his left forearm. He was later transported to at military hospital in England for treatment.
I don't have any details about his death or where he ended up after the war.
