Gunner Stanley James Parsons

Gunner (Gnr) Stanley James (Stan) Parsons, 2/10 Field Regiment. Gnr Parsons enlisted in the AIF in North Queensland at the age of 18. He was taken prisoner of war (POW) of the Japanese and was notorious for the risks he took scrounging food from the Japanese in Singapore and Thailand. He was later transferred to Japan in a work party.
