HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY

Mrs. J. McGinn has just received the sad news from her brother, Mr. R. H. Pirie, of Yarraman, that his eldest son Bob, who was previously missing, was killed in action on June 16.
Deceased was a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alex Pirie, who were well-known in this city (Mackay).

PIRIE. — In proud and loving memory of our beloved Son, Brother, and Brother-in-law, QX20611 Private Robert Hill Pirie (Bob), 2/25, B Coy., A.I.F., killed In action 10th June. 1941. Merdjayoun. Syria.
Treasured memories of one so dear
Are often recalled by a silent tear.
Dearer to memory than words can tell
Is the one we have lost and loved so well.
Loving and kind in all his ways, .
Upright and just to the end of his days,
Sincere and true in heart and mind.
